The Fig Tree is a vibrant online poetry magazine that publishes out of the North of England every two months. In this special anthology, women poets were invited to contribute poems that spoke about the lives of women today, drawing on subjects ranging from the natural world, families, relationships, and the historical role of women.
Edited by Susan Darlington and Stephanie Bowgett, and with a foreword by Julia Deakin, this anthology contains a fine collection of contemporary poems in a range of women’s voices.
This is a rich and varied anthology of contemporary women’s poetry written for those who were not able to write their own stories: it is a ‘whisper of all the poems women did not write’.
